Thank you for visiting the Above-the-Line Training Associates (ATL) website.

This website is still quite new and may change from time to time so please excluse this while we go through a peer review and editing process for our website and add any content considered necessary during that review process.

We hope that you enjoy browsing our website and learning from the resources it contains, and that you will enrol in our courses which all relate to the application of authentic leadership principles.

Please note that our foundation course is available for you free of charge. This way you can sample the learning platform and the content before you commit to the program.

If you have any questions, please contact me via the email address provided above.

At ATL, we accept that you know your circumstances well, and we work with you to give you maximum choice in how your training is delivered. For this reason, we offer you a choice in the methods of delivery as detailed below.

Self-Directed Learning

This mode of delivery allows course participants to study at their own pace over the 8 weeks of access provided and work online from our learning platform Teachable.

Faciliated Learning

This mode of learning involves the participant following the program online but having fortnightly online meetings structured as tutorials via video conference software (we use Microsoft Teams because there is no need for further expenditure on subscription fees).

Our courses and programs have the following meanings at ATL.

Courses:

Courses are a single unit of focussed learning.

Programs

Programs relate to multiple courses offered that when grouped provide a higher and broader level of understanding of the topic.

For example, our Leading with Authenticity Program requires that participants complete the five courses that comprise this program with the foundation course "Leading with Authenticity - Background to the Program offered at no charge to the participant.

Learning Pace

You control the pace of learning by enrolling in the number of courses that fall into line with your learning needs and study/work/life balance.

Our Online Learning Platform is Teachable

Undertaking any of the courses involves reading and engaging with course materials on our online learning platform which hosts all of our print, video or audio materials all located on the learning platform including PDFs of artcles for additional reading.

Our “Leading with Authenticity Program”

This program has five courses you must complete to gain a certification in Authentic Leadership.

Each course is designed as a stand-alone course, and you may take any of the courses that make up our Leading with Authenticity program in any order.

The order suggested below is best for understanding authentic Leadership principles and it is strongly recommended you first undertake the foundation course Leading with Authenticity - The Background to the Program.

Leading with Authenticity Program:

The Background and Literature Foundational to Authentic Leadership

Enrolling in this course is free as we consider it foundational to the program and essential reading before entering the other four courses.

This means you can experience our learning platform before purchasing a course, which is essential if you wish to continue with this program’s other four courses.

Even though ATL does not charge for this foundational course, you will need to go throught the enrolment process on the Sales Page for this product.

Leading with Authenticity :

Knowing YOU - The Importance of Self-Awareness and Behavioural Self-Control as a Leader

Self-awareness and behavioral self-control are fundamental qualities for effective leadership. A leader who is self-aware understands their strengths, weaknesses, values, and emotions, allowing them to make informed decisions and foster positive relationships. Behavioral self-control enables leaders to manage their impulses, stay calm under pressure, and respond thoughtfully in challenging situations. Together, these traits help leaders maintain credibility, inspire trust, and guide their teams with clarity and integrity, ensuring both personal growth and the success of their organizations.

Leading with Authenticity: What is Your True North? Developing your moral compass as a Leader

When you find your true north, you discover your authentic self. It's a combination of your purpose and your beliefs. You decide what you value most in life and put that at the forefront. Once you're aware of this inner sense, you're one step closer to answering your calling. Your true north is unique to you.

We discuss ethics, five ethical approaches (or lenses) to moral decision-making, and some ethical decision-making models for you to try.

Leading with Authenticity:

It’s Better Together - The Relational Orientation of Authentic Leaders

This course explains the importance of Authentic leaders prioritising building and maintaining solid relationships based on trust and mutual respect. Relationships are two-way, and they must be more than transactional and this course examines strategies for building better team relationships.

Leading with Authenticity: More We Than I—Options for team and team member development for authentic leaders

This course examines the importance of developing team members and strategies for achieving it and the process of ethical delegation and how delegation helps build your team members and the right way of doing it.

Access to Complete for 8 Weeks

When you enrol in any of our courses, you will be given eight weeks of content access on our learning platform, Teachable, to complete it.

If you are unable to complete the course in the allocated time and need some additional time, this can be arranged by contacting Dr Richard Olley via [email protected], who will arrange reasonable adjustments for longer access.

You should also be aware that unless prior arrangements have been made, your eight weeks of access commence as soon as you are enrolled. If you would like to delay the commencement of your course later, please make this known in an email to Dr Richard Olley at the email address listed above, and we can schedule a later start date for your course, leaving you the full eight weeks of standard access.
